GRA tax for contractors: records, not a rate card

What Guyana Revenue Authority records a contractor should be able to show, without a tax rate or a made-up penalty.

What the official sources say

The Guyana Revenue Authority administers tax, customs, and petroleum-related fiscal work. A contractor's file usually needs a TIN, a conscious decision on VAT registration, invoices that match the return, and customs declarations for goods that cross the border. Whether a supply is exempt, zero-rated, or standard-rated is a tax-adviser question. This page states no rate.

Where this catalogue quotes a penalty, it quotes the GRA page. VAT Policy 21, updated 2 February 2026, is the source for the return provisions we list. Customs penalty wording is the GRA customs notice. Other tax offences were not given amounts, so they appear as an unverified backlog, not as zero.

Questions people ask

What VAT rate does PetroMetric use for contractors?

None. No rate is published here. A tax adviser reads the current Act, the exemptions, and the contract.

Is a GRA penalty the same as a local-content fine?

No. They are different statutes, different agencies, and different evidence. Do not add them together.

Does the workspace file a VAT return?

No. It can hold the evidence you choose to upload. It does not submit a return to the GRA.
