Ministry of Natural Resources, and the MNRE search
Searches for MNRE usually mean the Ministry of Natural Resources. Environmental permits stay with the EPA.
What the official sources say
People still search for MNRE, the older natural-resources-and-environment label. The petroleum programme is published by the Ministry of Natural Resources at petroleum.gov.gy. There is not a separate upstream petroleum ministry, and this research did not verify a functioning Petroleum Commission. Do not invent one.
Environmental authorisations are the Environmental Protection Agency's, at epaguyana.org. The Ministry's petroleum library holds agreements, licences, and local-content guidelines. A company can owe duties to both. PetroMetric keeps those duties in different rows so a petroleum guideline is not described as an EPA permit.
Checklist
- Use petroleum.gov.gy for petroleum policy, licences, and local-content guidelines.
- Use epaguyana.org for environmental permits.
- Label MNRE as a legacy search, not as a second regulator.
- Do not create a Petroleum Commission row unless an Act establishing it is verified.
- Cite the document library rather than a scraped summary.
Questions people ask
Is MNRE the current name of the petroleum ministry?
The current public petroleum site is the Ministry of Natural Resources Petroleum Management Programme at petroleum.gov.gy. MNRE is treated here as a legacy search phrase, not as a second agency.
Does the Ministry issue EPA permits?
No. Environmental permits are an EPA function. The Ministry publishes petroleum policy, licensing material, and local-content guidance.
Is there a separate Upstream Petroleum Ministry?
Not in the sources used for this site. See the petroleum management programme guide. A Petroleum Commission was not verified as established.
