HSE records: evidence, not a badge
How to organise health, safety, and environment evidence without calling it a compliance certificate.
What the official sources say
Contractors are often asked for training, incidents, corrective actions, and permit monitoring in one HSE pack. Those requests mix the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the project EPA permit, and the contractor's own procedure. PetroMetric keeps them in separate workstreams so a training file is not treated as an environmental sample.
An uploaded procedure does not close a finding. A reviewer who did not prepare the file accepts the version, and a later upload needs its own acceptance. The product is not a control-room system, not emergency dispatch, and not a medical record. US OSHA and BSEE SEMS can be stored only as labelled benchmarks.
Checklist
- Split OSH, EPA, and company-procedure evidence.
- Name the owner and the due date on each corrective action.
- Keep incident notes restricted when they identify a person.
- Do not close an action because a PDF was attached.
- Say "accepted evidence", not "HSE certified".
Questions people ask
Is PetroMetric an EHS system?
It is a proposed obligations and evidence workspace. It is not a replacement for an operator's engineering safety system, a medical record, or a live control room.
Can one HSE percentage cover safety and the environment?
The dashboard can show a workstream. It should not collapse OSH, EPA, and a company procedure into one legal result. Missing evidence stays missing.
Do you claim ISO 45001 or OSHA certification?
No. No certification of any kind is claimed. A supplier's own certificate, if they have one, is their document, stored as evidence.
