Supplier onboarding without mixing four different files
A checklist that separates the statutory certificate, tax identifiers, safety evidence, and commercial prequalification.
What the official sources say
Supplier onboarding fails when four requests are treated as one form. The Local Content Secretariat certificate, the GRA identifiers, the safety and insurance pack a buyer asks for, and any EPA or GEA permission the activity needs are different duties. The 51, 75, and 90 percent tests are qualification tests for the statutory definition, not a score you can average.
A commercial portal such as the Centre Hub asks for some of the same numbers, including VAT, TIN, and a certificate number. Typing them into a profile is not the same as holding the underlying document. PetroMetric's proposed supplier upload is an invitation to one evidence request. It does not show other suppliers' files, and it does not submit the application.
Checklist
- Secretariat certificate from localcontent.gov.gy, with expiry.
- TIN and VAT position, decided with a tax adviser.
- Ownership and management evidence for the three statutory tests, kept separate.
- Safety, training, and insurance files the buyer actually named.
- EPA or GEA permission only if the activity needs it.
- A dated copy of the commercial profile, labelled as commercial.
Questions people ask
What is the minimum local-content onboarding pack?
There is no single statutory pack. Start with whether the firm needs a Secretariat certificate, then add the tax, safety, and permit documents that actually apply. Do not use another company's list as the law.
Can a supplier see other companies in PetroMetric?
The proposed supplier role is limited to its own evidence request. There is no public client directory and no peer records.
Does onboarding mean the company may bid?
No. A complete evidence file is not an invitation to tender and not a government approval.
